Anticipation has officially been released into the wild
As regular visitors to my site and this blog will know, this has been a difficult book. Eddie and Blue wouldn't behave, and I spent a lot of time going back and forth, trying to get the words on the page to match the idea I had in my head. From the very beginning I knew that Blue was in love with Eddie, and had been for years. but I really wanted her to lead Eddie on a merry dance. In the early drafts of the book, Blue was too passive and Eddie too obtuse. It was only when I finished doing revisions that I realised I'd come full circle back to the idea of Blue making Eddie work for her love. Not that it's a conscious thing for her, at all. I know the next question from readers will probably be what next, and who will it be about, and when will it be out. Obsession will be the next instalment in the Brothers Ink series, and it will tell Lena's story. My dream is to have it out before Christmas, but I'm not making any promises this time around. Between now and then, however, I'm hoping to release an anthology project I've been working on with fellow Down Under Writers Joan Kilby and Karina Bliss. Set around a Bachelor and Spinsters Ball in rural Australia, these stories will follow the journeys of three women who have been fast friends since meeting at a country boarding school in their teens. I'll tell you more about this collection when it's a little firmer, but it's been lovely working with two funny, smart, amazing women I am lucky enough to call my friends as well as my writing colleagues.
Right. That's it from me for now. I'll post more as thoughts occur to me! Happy reading.
